IMDS Training

The automotive industry uses International Material Data System (IMDS) to compile and transfer specific part and material data from the supply chain to comply with the the European Union’s End-of-Life Vehicles (ELV) Directive. Tetra Tech is an officially endorsed IMDS training partner by EDS Operations Systems who maintains the IMDS database. We have trained over 2,500 participants representing over 750 companies worldwide. Tetra Tech provides the following IMDS Training options:

Monthly Open Enrollment
Tetra Tech offers monthly open-enrollment Standard and Advanced level training for those responsible for, or involved in, IMDS programs. Courses feature hands-on learning experiences for each participant. Benefits include:

  • Live training on the IMDS Training Server – a duplicate of the IMDS production server
  • Training exercises used to demonstrate IMDS data entry and many of the nuances associated with the system

IMDS Users Guides
Our IMDS User Guide serves as a reference document for IMDS users and anyone requiring a working knowledge of the principles and functions of the IMDS system. It helps the user navigate the complexities of the IMDS system by providing:

  • A background description leading to the creation of the IMDS
  • An introduction of the IMDS system and structure
  • Instructions for setting up an IMDS account
  • Material data creation guidance, including customer submissions
  • Component and material library organization, including search functions and usage
  • Guidance on implementing IMDS
